BROOKE CO. W.Va--

Despite the defenses best efforts, James Sepik is back behind bars on $500,000 bond.  The Brooke County Magistrate denied a request for bond reduction Tuesday afternoon.

The 46-year-old former Follansbee softball coach from Mingo Junction faces four counts of possessing child pornography, was in the Brooke County courtroom for the hearing Tuesday.

Assistant Public Defender, Robert Gaudio had asked that Sepik’s bond be reduced because he has children at home he needs to help support, and lives with his ex-wife who is being treated for breast cancer.

The prosecution said that even though Sepik is only facing four counts at this time, further charges are likely pending considering there were hundreds of images of child pornography found on a flash drive that alledgely belonged to Sepik.

“He none the less has a significant problem that presents a danger to this community in the state’s position, but in a broader sense, nationally,” Brooke Co. Prosecutor, Joseph Barki said.

Sepik's preliminary hearing will be set within the next week and grand jury trial is expected for November.
