BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. --

A former girls softball coach is charged with four counts of possession of child pornography.

James Sepik, 46, of Mingo Junction, was arrested without incident around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohio County Airport in Brooke County, where he works.

Investigators said Sepik was the coach for the Pittsburgh Pride girls' softball league. A person close to the league told NEWS9 that Sepik resigned two months ago.

According to Sgt. Matthew Adams of the West Virginia State Police, a parent of a softball player in Follansbee found a flash drive in a parking lot in late June. The parent took the flash drive home to a computer and found several documents that identified that it belonged to Sepik, officials said.

The parent turned the thumb drive over to the Brooke County Sheriff's Department. The department contacted State Police, who said they found more than 1,000 pornographic images of children on the thumb drive. Officials executed a search warrant at Sepik's home on July 3.

Adams said all of the images appeared to be photos that were downloaded from the Internet and there is no indication that any of the images were girls that Sepik knew.

Though many of the girls Sepik coached were from Jefferson County and Brooke County, Adams said Sepik did not use the ball fields in Follansbee where the drive was found.

Sepik is being held on $500,000 bond and his preliminary hearing is expected to be held within the next 10 days.
