BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. – Thirty-six indictments and 75 felonies were handed down inside the Brooke County Courthouse on Wednesday.

Of note was the case of Michael Walnoha, the brother of a man who was killed during an armed robbery attempt of a pharmacy in Elm Grove in May 2012.

Brooke County prosecutor Joe Barki said Michael Walnoha has been charged with making terrorist threats and harassment related to his brother’s death. The prosecutor said Walnoha made threats directed to the pharmacist who shot and killed his brother.

“It’s difficult to get into specific details because I can’t divulge information from the grand jury,” Barki said, “but we do know that the threats were made via text.”

Barki said he believes the text threats made by Walnoha constituted a serious threat toward the pharmacist.

Walnoha was arrested but has since been released. He will appear in court again Tuesday for this arraignment. If convicted, Walnoha faces at least one year in prison.
