EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio --

Jennifer Hallam of East Liverpool tragically lost her husband and 22-month-old daughter after a car accident in August 2011.  Jennifer was in the car, but has no memory of the accident.  While Jennifer’s husband Troy and daughter Hailey were killed, her dream to help others cope with loss came to life.

"To my family friends and all that I love, I'm so happy here in my home up above, so if that pull in your heart becomes too much to bear, know that I’m sending a hug through the air,” Hallam read from her book Tuesday.

The words came straight from her heart, and into the pages of the children’s book she wrote in honor of Troy and Hailey.  The book, "A Hug Through the Air",  will be released on what would have been Hailey’s 4th birthday, Oct. 9.

“She is my life, and she remains my life.  I wanted to keep her alive in a way,” Hallam said.

Just weeks after the accident, Jennifer started writing the book, oftentimes working on it at the grave site of her loved ones.

"They are just right outside of my grasp, and all it takes is just a hug through the air,” Hallam said.

Hallam said the publishing process was therapeutic for her, but she also believes there is something for everyone to take away from the book.

“If they're dealing with any sort of grief or separation, anxiety, any problems in that way, it’s a comfort to them,” Hallam said.  “Also, it's a comfort for children who are dealing with a situation where one of the parents is in the military.  It's the idea that it doesn't matter that they're away, they're still connected.”

The book will be available on Amazon.com, Todd Sparkle Market in East Liverpool and will be available for pre-order at www.haileyhugs.com.
