Armed robbery at Bellaire apartment complex, 4 robbers at large

Updated: Monday, January 20 2014, 11:51 PM EST

Bellaire police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Monday evening at the Francis-Wallace apartment complex.

Police Chief Mike Kovalyk said four people entered the apartment through a back door, and got away with a purse and wallet.

Two women and a baby were home at the time of the incident.

Officials said one robber held a gun to a woman's head.

All of the alleged robbers fled the scene on foot.

Residents told police that they saw a dark-colored vehicle a block away, on Franklin Street, speeding away from the scene.

Kovalyk said the alleged robbers were wearing ski masks and gloves.

At this time, Kovalyk said the vehicle described in the incident is "somewhat similar" to two other armed robberies, occurring on Thursday of last week and this past Saturday.

The vehicle in question has a possible 3-digit license plate with the number 944 or 955.
