One arrested, another on the loose after drug bust

Updated: Friday, March 21 2014, 08:48 AM EDT

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio - Steubenville police arrested one man and are looking for another in connection to a large drug bust that took place Thursday night.

Police and members of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force executed two search warrants, one at a home along Linden Avenue, where they seized more than 50 grams of heroin and 25 grams of crack cocaine.

The other warrant turned up $4,000 in cash and led to the arrest of William Chang Chamberlain.

Officials say they are looking for another man, Ian Shaw, who they believe owns one of two firearms that were seized during the search.

"This is a significant seizure for us," says Detective Jason Hanlin of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force. "Obviously 50 grams is a great value."

Chamberlain faces a number of charges, including two felonies for the possession of heroin and possession of cocaine.

Shaw is wanted for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Hanlin says that this bust should once again serve as a warning to those who are desperate enough to deal.

"There are significant heroin traffickers," says Hanlin, "and the task force along with other officials will continue to target those out-of-town traffickers bringing heroin to our community."
