Phone lines stolen

Updated: Thursday, September 26 2013, 12:02 AM EDT

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio—

Officials with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office were notified about stolen phone lines from the Tappan Lake area.

Fronter officials said this is affecting residents in Deersville, Deersville Ridge and along State Route 250 toward Tuscarawas County.

Because of this, 911 service for these customers is out as well.

Officials said the lines that were stolen serve as the main trunk line that feeds the western part of the county.

Crews are working to fix the problem.

A restoration time is unknown.

Officals said if residents saw anything suspicious, they should contact the Harrison County Sheriff's Office or the NEWS9 Lauttamus Crimebusters Tipline at 1-800-862-BUST, or e-mail crimebusters@wtov.com.
