HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio - As NEWS9 reported Wednesday night, one man is behind bars after officers found a working meth lab in his home.
We also reported Randall Moon's wife and kids were living inside that house. On Thursday, we learned his wife had no clue there was a meth lab cooking operation going on around their three children. That information came directly from Harrison County Sheriff Ron Myers, who talked to the mother Wednesday night.
No one answered NEWS9's knocks on the door Thursday afternoon at the home, where less than 24 hours earlier, Harrison County deputies found a working meth lab. The neighborhood surrounding East College Street in Scio was a much different atmosphere Thursday afternoon.
Herbie Blankenship lives right up the road.
"Yeah there's a lot more going on in this town than people know about," he said.
Yet he did have his suspicions.
On our fans of Fans of WTOV-TV Facebook page, Moon's family members have been defending his wife, and the fact that she says she had no idea what was going on.
In the story comments, she even stated...
"Let me just say that I am the mom....that's exactly right....yes they found the **** inside but he would cook in the truck."
That's exactly where investigators said Moon has been making drugs -- in his truck. But they found two working meth labs in his basement.
Moon remains in the Harrison County Jail facing a long list of charges.
Myers says he does give Moon credit because he served a couple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan but that still isn't an excuse.
Myers said meth is extremely dangerous no matter who is around.
