24 months in jail for man who doesn’t recall details of crime

Updated: Monday, August 11 2014, 05:18 PM EDT
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – Charles Zonker Jr. received a 24-month jail sentence Monday afternoon after he pled guilty to a crime he can’t remember the details of.
His defense attorney, Aaron Miller, said his client was intoxicated and had taken prescription pills during a robbery of a Dillonvale home from May 12.
“So when he says he doesn't remember, that's true statement,” Miller said. “But there would have been evidence that there was a knife involved, a threat was made, entry was made into the house, pills were taken, a little bit of money was taken, and he fled from the house."
Zonker pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, theft and burglary. He was indicted last month by the Jefferson County Grand Jury.
