JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – The Adena Volunteer Fire Department projects focusing on operations and safety --- like training, facility upgrades, and protective equipment – with the $155,000 federal FEMA grant it received Wednesday.
"It means a lot because our budget is pretty small and we also run a paid EMS service in the daytime, and that takes up a lot of our budget.” Fire Chief Erik Potkosei said. “We have a levy that helps out. This is really helps replace equipment because without it, we wouldn't be able to do it."
The chief says their personal protection equipment is their No. 1 priority. They will officially be awarded the funds Friday.
