HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio – Bond was modified Tuesday for William Woodward, a Harrison County man who was indicted last month on 24 counts for producing, disseminating and possessing child porn.
The defense told Common Pleas Court Judge T. Shawn Hervey it will be filing motions for a mental health evaluation. Hervey knocked the bond down from $1 million to $550,000. However, he did stress that he agrees with the state's position that Woodward is a threat to the community.
"The court believes that crimes like this perpetuate the touching of juveniles and the allegations contained in the complaint certainly contemplate that there were young juveniles touched by someone," Hervey said.
If Woodward can post that $550,000 bond, he is ordered to have no contact with anyone under 18.
Also, he cannot use any device that would allow him access to the internet.
His pre-trial date has not yet been set.
