Cooper returns to hero’s welcome in Glen Dale

MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. -- Mind over matter has allowed 11-year-old cooper Blair to not only succeed, but thrive as a runner despite having two prosthetic legs.
Not letting his disability disable him, Cooper collected four gold medals at the Endeavor Games in Iowa and returned home to the Ohio Valley Friday night to a hero’s welcome.
Cooper competed in the 100, 200 and 400 meter runs, earning a medal in each and bringing his medal count to 10 in just one year of competition.
His great uncle said Cooper flew in from Iowa Friday afternoon. He arrived and was escorted into town by the local police and fire departments.
Now with his medal performance in the endeavor games, he has won the right to move on to compete at worlds.
