Fugitive arrested in Columbiana County

Updated: Monday, July 21 2014, 07:19 PM EDT
COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio -- The internet had been dotted with news that a woman had abducted a child and fled Minnesota along with two of her own kids.
Now the headlines will be different after her capture here in the Ohio Valley.
On the run from authorities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, a woman was arrested just outside of Minerva. Her name: Amy Winterfeldt. It’s a name known by many in the middle of the country, thanks to news agencies.
The Ohio State Highway patrol nabbed Winterfeldt due to her own misfortune.
She was stopped for no tail lights, and investigators say Winterfeldt had three things in her car that she wasn't allowed to have -- two guns and a child.
And folks back home were so afraid that her mental status, that they say was dwindling, could have led to some ugly consequences.
Authorities said they just wanted to make sure the kids were safe and back to the father.
Winterfeldt was in court Monday morning in Columbiana County. A judge decided that she will be held with no bond until investigators from her home state can come get her.
Officials here say she will be charged with having a weapon while under disability here in Ohio and certainly faces more once she returns to Minnesota.
