BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio -- Police are still asking for assistance in helping identify a driver who sped away from a deadly motorcycle crash.
The victim's husband, Carl Jackowski said he still is shaken up over the loss of his wife. All that he wants now are answers.
"I checked her pulse, in the left arm," Jackowski said. "I had it and it disappeared. I went to the right and it disappeared. I knew she was dead right there."
Riding was a way of life for Gayle and Carl Jackowski. They never thought something they loved to do so much could result in death.
They were on their way back to their quiet home in Flushing when another vehicle crossed over three lanes, traveling east on I-70, hitting their motorcycle.
"It took off, kept going down the road," Jackowski said. "I saw her in the mirror in mid-air. I locked the breaks up and ran to her. I had to jump over the guardrail and stop her from sliding down the hill."
Carl said he knew his wife was hurt. He kept saying to her, 'talk to me, talk to me.' Gayle responded back to him saying 'I hurt,' and then her head dropped.
She was pronounced dead shortly after.
Five days later, and police still need help finding the suspect vehicle.
"I would like to see this person turn himself in so I could feel better," Jackowski said.
The vehicle that fled the scene is described to be a 2004-2008 silver or gray Chevy Malibu with an Ohio registration.
The license plate began with a G and may contain a 1 as the third character.
"I want him to find out who it is and mainly just to keep them from hurting somebody else," said sister-in-law Kim Mercer.
The suspect vehicle is also described to have rear-end damage and a busted tail light from the crash.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Pickerington Police.
