Inaugural Joey Galloway football camp held in Wheeling

Updated: Thursday, July 10 2014, 06:21 PM EDT
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Bellaire native and former NFL wide receiver and current ESPN correspondent Joey Galloway is back in the Ohio Valley this week.
Galloway wrapped up the Inaugural Joey Galloway Next Level Football Camp at Wheeling Jesuit University.
Area athletes got the chance to learn some drills that will benefit them in high school and further in their careers.
All of the proceeds from the event are going to charity for cancer research.
“I lost my mother to cancer a few years ago,” Galloway said. “And she used to do fundraising for cancer and we have continued that tradition. I don't want to get paid to do a camp, but I thought we could sort of make this a good thing for the kids and for charity.”
The camp was geared toward upperclassmen who have a desire to play at the next level.
Galloway said he envisions it becoming an annual event.
