JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -- Despite the rainy and muggy weather, a lot of regulars are still excited about attending the 2014 Jefferson County Fair. Organizers and visitors aren't letting the weather put a damper all of the activities going on there this week.
From delicious food to rides to shows and contests, the list of excitement for this year’s county fair is endless. The fair opened its doors at 8 o’clock Tuesday morning, beginning with the judging of the small animals to baked goods. Organizers said it’s is all about prepping the animals for the shows that will be held later, such as getting the animals checked and weighed in.
"Right now we're just prepping the horses, getting them ready for the show later on today,” said horse owner Roger Davis. “Combing them braiding their hair, etc."
The horse fun show is just one of many activities going on at the fair. They've even added a new event this year called pedal pull tractors. If you want to take part in all of the fun and can't make it out Tuesday, you still have this weekend and some beautiful weather to look forward to at the fair.
