JEFFERSON COUNTY, OH

Villages and towns are always looking for new ideas to help improve their situation of being a small town. In Yorkville, Ohio, the town, along with the help of village council, is trying to gain momentum and keep its pride.

Karen Vargo is council president in the Village of Yorkville, and said that small towns and villages in the Ohio Valley share ideas with each other to form new plans for success.

Vargo said that there's a spirit that residents keep with their neighbors to move toward new success. She adds that there is no reason to keep Yorkville as it is.

Vargo said that communities that share ideas and have the same mindset to move forward toward development are ones that have a bright future.

Although Yorkville residents don't try to compare themselves to other villages, Vargo said that it is sometimes necessary to see where they stand as a community.

She says that the coalition of Yorkville, Tiltonsville and Rayland will help the community a lot.
