HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio --

A man has been sentenced to serve 20 years in prison for crimes against children.

Chad Tyler was found guilty on two counts of illegal use of a minor and three counts of child endangerment.

In court Wednesday, based on a joint sentencing recommendation, Tyler was ordered to serve four years for each of the five counts.

Tyler must also register as a Tier 2 sex offender, meaning he is required to register every six months for 25 years after he’s released from prison.

Officials said seven minors were victims. During the sentencing hearing, the grandmother of two of the victims described Tyler as a pedophile who preys on young children. She said he hopes he suffers in prison for the next 20 years and said it “makes her sick” to even look at him.

A NEWS9 crew was in the courtroom during the hearing and will provide complete coverage on NEWS9 Midday. Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
