New Cumberland man facing sex abuse charges

Updated: Friday, August 22 2014, 12:13 PM EDT
HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. – New Cumberland’s Timothy Allen made his second appearance in court in connection to a case of alleged sexual abuse against a 4-year-old on Friday morning.
Allen has been charged with two felony counts of sexual abuse and two counts of sexual abuse by a guardian.
His appearance before Magistrate Scott Hicks was very brief, and the matter will be rescheduled as both the prosecution and defense wait to review additional information from a trooper who's been on this case since April.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged sexual contact occurred at the suspect’s home multiple times between October 2013 and March 2014. The complaint also details accusations that came to light during a series of evaluations of the alleged victim.
In the trooper’s report, Allen admits there was genital contact with the boy, but says it was not sexual in nature.
Allen remains out of jail on bond, and will go back to court Oct. 3.
