WHEELING, W.Va.--

Moundsville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery.

Chief Tom Mitchell says it happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the BB&T on Lafayette Avenue.

Mitchell says a Dollar Tree employee was depositing money when someone approached her wearing camouflage and a ski mask.

“That person, we’re not sure if it was a man or woman, told her several times to give the money up,” said Mitchell. “She would not give the money up, and he displayed a firearm. She then gave him the money.”

A co-worker who had followed her called 911.

“When I came to the scene she was quite upset, but I don't believe there was any physical contact,” said Mitchell.
