Rusnak enters not guilty plea

Updated: Wednesday, August 13 2014, 05:17 PM EDT

WTOV9.com
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -- Stanley Rusnak, a man who was arrested and charged in connection with three cold case murders from the 1970s, appeared before Jefferson County Judge Joseph Bruzzese in a Jefferson County court for his arraignment Wednesday morning.
Through a stand-in defense attorney, Rusnak entered a not guilty plea to three counts of murder.
The 65-year-old Rusnak answered only a few routine questions with short, and somewhat nonchalant, answers and learned he'll stay behind bars -- at least for now -- without bond.
There is no word yet on when a trial date might be set.
Rusnak was picked up last week by U.S. Marshals in Cleveland.
In the early 2000s, he spent time behind bars after pleading guilty to arson and aggravated assault.
In Cuyahoga County, he was also indicted a number of other charges including burglary and intimidation.
