BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio --  The Tough Mudder obstacle course has come to the Ohio valley, specifically Powerline Park in St. Clairsville.
The course tests participants' physical strength, but also has a few surprises along the way, and it's not for the faint of heart. The 11-mile long, military-style course tests features open fields, trail running, and more than 20 different obstacle courses.
"It is a 10-to-12  mile obstacle course designed by British special forces, and it is really here to test you physically and test your level of fear, level of comradery, and will power -- to test everything about you," General Manager John Barker said. "That's what Tough Mudder is all about."
Tough Mudder revolves around teamwork. The hope is to get participants out of the house and into the mud.
"It's about getting off the couch, getting in shape, getting out here, putting your devices down and spending time with your friends and family," Barker said. "(It's about) working on values like teamwork and comradery, and just coming out and having a great time."
The first Tough Mudder challenge was held in 2010 and has since donated its event proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project in order to help aid and assist severely injured service members.
"We've partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project for about 4 years now, and I'm proud to say that have raised over $6 million for that charity, and it's just a fantastic partnership for us."
If you feel like you're up for the challenge, there is still time to register. The course will take place Saturday and Sunday.
