WHEELING, W.Va.--

A Martins Ferry family got a very special Christmas gift and it came early.

A boy and a girl, twins, born Christmas Day. Arianna and Daniel were born around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Lorraine and Joe Tolliver now have eight children between them.

The family says they haven't actually exchanged gifts and they haven't had Christmas. The twins weren't supposed to be here until Jan. 15.

Joe Tolliver said his wife, Lorraine, was having complications so he took her to the hospital.

"She hadn't gotten me a Christmas gift and I said 'well, you're carrying them,'" said Tolliver. "We ended up here on Christmas and it's a blessing and a big shock."

They were the only two babies born at Wheeling Hospital Christmas morning.

The twins and their mother are both healthy and hope to leave the hospital Friday.
