Update: Suspect in car-jacking captured in Warwood

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. -- The alleged armed carjacker is in custody after being captured along on N. 25th Street in Warwood shortly before 4:30 p.m.
No weapon was recovered.
The suspect is a 17-year-old from Mingo County, W.Va. Authorities will not release his name because he's a juvenile.


HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. -- Police have found a maroon Mitsubishi Eclipse that was allegedly car-jacked from a driver at gunpoint along Brightway Street in Weirton around after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police followed the suspect onto W.Va. 2 and later lost him. The car was found along the jogging trail in Warwood shortly before 4 p.m., and a witness on a nearby porch saw the suspect take off on foot in the area.
The suspect is described as 5-foot-9 to 5-10, dirty blonde hair, scruffy face, wearing a football jersey and black shorts. He may be armed and should be considered dangerous.
