WEIRTON, W.Va. -- The man police believe to be responsible for leaving three explosive devices around the Weirton Municipal Plaza appeared in court Friday morning with his lawyer asking for a bond reduction.
The judge denied that reduction, however, and bond remained at $150,000 for 23-year-old suspect David Jared Patterson.
Patterson first appeared in court Wednesday after his arrest where he asked for his sentence. He is charged with three counts of criminal use of an explosive device, each a felony carrying a 2-10 year prison sentence.
The judge, in denying the bond reduction, reiterated the seriousness of the charges against Patterson, but did say a reduction could be considered at a later date.
Patterson's preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on May 30.
