HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. -- Tyler Graham was found guilty on all three counts of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend's 22-month-old daughter and giving her a sexually transmitted disease on Tuesday, and he will spend up to 20 years in prison for his actions.
"On the first count, which is sexual assault in the first degree, the sentence is 25 years, not less than 25 years, or more than 100 years," Hancock County Circuit Court Judge Martin J. Gaughan said.
For the second count for sexual abuse by a custodian, Graham was sentenced up to 20 years. And for the third count -- child abuse resulting in serious or substantial injury -- Graham will serve up to 10 years.
Before Graham serves his time in prison, the judge sentenced him to serve 2 years at the Anthony Correctional Center in White Sulphur Springs in West Virginia.
Four witnesses who took the stand, including Graham's mother, who pleaded with the judge of Graham's innocence. One of the witnesses believed the result of a polygraph examination Graham took not long ago came back wrong.  Graham's test results came back deceptive to all three questions he was asked in regard to the sexual assault incident.
Even with those results, and Graham's sentencing, people believe he is innocent.
"I'm glad this part is over with," his mother said. "I just want everyone to know how innocent he is."
Graham is expected be transferred to the correctional center within a few weeks to serve 2 years. If he completes his time there, he will serve 10-20 years in prison.
