A man facing a second-degree felony vehicular homicide charge from a crash back in August appeared in Harrison County court this morning.  His appearance in Harrison County comes just three days after authorities charged him with OVI in Jefferson County.  Both incidents happened along US 22.

Tuesday morning, 32-year-old Bryan Liggett was in a Harrison County courtroom on charges of vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle while under the influence.

Liggett entered a not guilty plea to both charges.  The judge ruled that Liggett was a safety risk to the community and set his bond at $100,000.  The bond was recommended by the county prosecutor.

The vehicular homicide charge stems from a deadly accident on Aug. 9 along US 22 in Archer Township.  Brian Westlake, 36, was killed.

On Tuesday, the Harrison County judge referenced Saturday’s charges before making his bond ruling, saying Liggett was a threat to the publics' safety.

On Saturday, authorities with the Ohio State Highway Patrol charged Liggett with OVI, driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs.
