HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio -- NEWS9 is learning more about a homicide investigation underway in Harrison County.
It’s an investigation that began on Friday evening around 5 when members of the Cadiz Police Department responded to Sally Buffalo Park for reports of a possible fatality.
On arrival, police found the body of 45-year-old Joseph Struthers.
On Friday night, few details were released.
On Saturday, investigators with the Cadiz Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff's Office, as well as Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Washington released new details.
According to investigators Matthew Dowdel, 24, of Hopedale and Eve Irene Kelley, 33, of Wintersville are responsible for the crime.
Since that time, the pair has been on the run. During a news conference on Monday afternoon, officials detailed their search thus far and gave more information about the two suspects.
Officials think the pair was in the Jefferson County during the weekend and believe the two are responsible for a burglary at the northern end of the county.
Investigators say a 2003 Cadillac and a firearm were taken during that robbery. Later Sunday, police located the Cadillac around the Fort Steuben Mall but there was no sign of the suspects or the firearm.
According to investigators, Dowdel and Kelley are now likely in Jefferson, Harrison, or Tuscarawas County; but they have no general location to release.
Officials say it is possible the two are driving a white Chevy Trailblazer that was stolen from Bridgeport and was originally located near the victim's vehicle.
Investigators say they have contacted officials in Stark and Tuscarwas Counties because of connections the two have in those areas. They say the families of the two suspects have been cooperative with the investigation.
Police warn that Kelley has altered her appearance and they believe she has cut her hair and dyed it blonde. They also believe she is thinner than the photo they released.
Officials say Dowdel has one tattoo in particular to look for it is across his knuckles on both hands and reads "cash flow."
Investigators say the two are panhandling and they believe they've been asking for change at a number of public locations.
Investigators have not released details about the autopsy, cause of death, or weapon used.
Officials say this is the first murder in the county since Jan. 12, 2002.
According to officials, Sally Buffalo Park is back open and is safe for the public.
