HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio -- With all of the rain this week, flooding on two baseball fields in Scio is causing delays. This isn’t the first time this city has dealt with flooding issues. In fact, it’s something residents are used to.
On Friday, days after the worst of the flooding, puddles and puddles of water still filled Onslow Field.
“The water was all the way up to the top of the concession stand,” Scio resident James Altavilla said.
Altavilla, who helps maintain the field, said the water was about 2 or three feet high near the dugouts, but it’s been higher.
“The water does recede,” he said. “Its receded quite a bit today.”
The elevation is too low in this area. Games are already cancelled and kids won't be able to play on the field for another 2 to 3 days.
This isn't the only place in Scio that has flooding issues, this is an ongoing problem they deal with yearly because of their low elevation.
