Steubenville police made an arrest in connection to the assault of a pizza delivery driver in Mingo Junction on Tuesday night.

Mingo Junction Police Chief Stephen Maguschak said police learned about the alleged attack around 9 Tuesday night.  The Vocelli’s Pizza delivery man allegedly went to deliver a pizza at 104 Edwards Street in Mingo Junction when he was jumped by two males, police say.

“[The house] is clearly vacant, he got out to try and deliver it, and the two guys jumped him and assaulted him," Maguschak said.

On Wednesday, a juvenile was picked up in Mingo Junction and Steubenville police arrested 18-year-old Tyler Gregg of Mingo Junction.

Police say the victim suffered injuries to the face, and some bruising, but he did report back to work before going to the hospital to be treated Tuesday night.

Police say the suspects only got away with $8.

"These pizza delivery drivers don't carry a whole lot of money on them, just for this fact.  You get some young individuals who think they're going to make some cash by jumping these guys who are out trying to make a living--it's pretty stupid," Maguschak said.

Charges were officially filed in the Jefferson County prosecutor’s office Thursday afternoon.

Gregg faces one felony count of aggravated robbery and one misdemeanor charge of theft.

The juvenile involved also faces one count of aggravated robbery.  The Jefferson County juvenile prosecutor tells NEWS9 that a third juvenile has been charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
