Arson suspect appears in court

A man accused of arson in connection with a car explosion in Dillonvale was in court this afternoon.

Robert Mark Lollathin Jr. is accused of using a type of Molotov cocktail to light a vehicle on fire Dec. 15.

According to the criminal complaint, Lollathin threatened the victim before lighting the vehicle on fire. The complaint says his girlfriend, Breanna Potenzini, threw a rock at the vehicle to bread the window before the cocktail was thrown in by Lollathin.

Lollathin had his bond set at $15,000 and is charged with felony arson. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson County Justice Center. Attorney Costa Mastros was appointed as defense counsel.

Potenzini is charged with one count of complicity to arson.
