JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio---

Thursday night around 10:30, officers were called to Speedway on Sunset Boulevard, where they went to collect evidence.
The manager had told police that someone attempted to purchase an item with a counterfeit $10 bill that she received during a transaction at McDonald’s.
Chief Bill McCaffery says, “There’s been multiple occasions of counterfeit $10 showing up in businesses. They check fifties, they check the larger bills and we’re urging them to check the $10 bills also. Who knows how many are out there?”
Officers took the bill along with five others that are now being reviewed as evidence.
Earlier this week, two men were arrested on charges connected to the counterfeit $10 bills, but officials are not sure how many people are involved at this time or how many counterfeit $10 bills are floating around.
