JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – There’s  been another series of car break-ins in Jefferson County, this time in Richmond.
Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said at least 25 cars were broken into Tuesday night, and he believes it's the same individual or group of individuals who have been doing this all over the county in recent weeks.
The break-ins happened on Sugar Street, Cedar Street and High Street in Richmond.
Tammy skinner, who lives on High Street, said her car and her neighbors car were ransacked.
“We woke up, my husband got up to go to work and came outside and heard something fall and looked back and noticed my windshield was busted,” Skinner said.
They took Skinner's TomTom and her video camera that was in the console, but didn't take any of the money that she had in there.
“People can be so desperate to break into people’s cars,” she said.
Abdalla said police are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of this.
He encourages residents if they see or hear anything to contact them right away, and to keep porch lights and garage lights on.
Abdalla said a gun was taken from one car, as well as some loose change and some more GPS devices. There has been thousands of dollars of damage dome during the past few weeks.
