MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. -- A semi-truck tipped over in Marshall County early Wednesday morning, spilling hazardous material all over the road.

It happened just after midnight on Burch Ridge Road in Moundsville. The road had been closed for nearly 12 hours, with crews expecting it to reopen sometime around noon.

Deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department say a truck belonging to Team Services LLC was moving from one drilling site to another and its wheels got stuck in a ditch, causing it to tip.

Reports indicate several drums containing poisonous liquid spilled onto the road. A HAZMAT crew was called to work to clean up the mess.

The driver of the truck was not endorsed to carry this kind of dangerous material and citations are pending, according to deputies.
