JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – WTOV9, along with Wendy’s, the United Way, and Information Helpline, teamed up to Lace up for Kids to provide shoes to children in need for the upcoming school year Thursday.
"It’s going to make a great difference in their school year,” United Way Director Beth Rupert said. “First of all, they will be able to leave their home safely with having the appropriate shoes on for the weather; they will be able to participate in gym; they will also be able to be like everyone else and have those pair of shoes to give them a great foundation to start the school year."
