MINGO JUNCTION, Ohio – While many communities prepare for big 4th of July celebrations, Mingo Junction’s will be subdued.
Village leaders say because of the tight budget, there isn't much they can do. But they're trying their best, and will be inviting the public to use the pool and the shelters for free on Friday.
"I want to make sure Mingo Junction recognizes Independence Day,” Mayor John “Wiz” Fabian said. “I think it's a good idea to have this. I would like for people to come down to Mingo and see our nice park."
The pool will be open from noon to 6.
The mayor says hours may be extended, but that will all depend on the weather.
