Brooke Hancock Family Resource Center moving

Updated: Monday, July 28 2014, 06:41 PM EDT

BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. – Monday was moving day for the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network.
The family resource network took the first steps with approximately 20 volunteers helping move everything from furniture, to strollers from their old location to their new one on Potomac Avenue.
Rita Hawkins, coordinator of the Family Resource Center, said the old facility had two floors, was difficult to navigate, and hard to find. They say the new location will be all around easier for everyone. And it's all on one level with easier parking. The goal of the center is to help out families in the area and now it will be a lot easier for them to do so.
"Well the location being easily accessible,” Hawkins said. “We provide information and resources to the community in a variety of topics because we have information for families on just about pre-natal, up to age 18 and beyond. We have the advocates for substance abuse programs."
They still have a lot of moving to do -- a couple of days’ worth at least. They hope to have everything up and running by Friday.
And coming in March 2015, the Family Resource Network will be celebrating 20 years in Brooke and Hancock counties.
