Egle's Cross assistance fund helping Wheeling man

Updated: Wednesday, February 19 2014, 08:18 PM EST

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. – Wheeling’s Darnell Burch has been named as a recipient of $5,500 from Egle’s Cross assistance fund, a charity that gives assistance to those in the Paintless Dent Repair community.

Egle’s Cross is a fund that started as an idea by PDR Chairman Ryan Hampton, who took up collections to help some paintless dent repair families in their time of need. PDR Nation then decided there was a need for a charitable organization in the industry, and thus Egle’s Cross was born.

Burch, who is suffering from kidney disease and is undergoing dialysis and waiting to be placed on the kidney transplant list, is a PDR technician that specializes in hail repair, a career that requires months of travel every year. While being tied to dialysis, Burch is all but unable to travel for work.

Egle's Cross is named in memory of Egle Varnas and Amy Cross, wife of Howard Cross, who also passed away recently. PDR nation will hold an annual raffle consisting of tools and products donated from entities within the industry, to raise money for this fund. There is also a permanent link located on the PDR Nation website for those who wish to donate anytime.
