Several facing serious allegations in Marshall County

Updated: Tuesday, July 22 2014, 06:38 PM EDT

Several strong accusations were made in Marshall County during docket day in Marshall County Tuesday.

Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Mark A. Karl issued an arrest warrant for Derek Babb, 27, after he failed to appear in court.

Babb and Hugh Morgan, 31, are both charged with malicious assault.

According to reports, both men were involved in a "stomping" at Nick's Lounge in Moundsville that left, among other injuries, a visiblefootprint on the victim's face.

Both men were living in Marshall County working in the oil and gas industry.

Morgan took the fifth in court Tuesday and remains in jail.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Ashley Baker pleaded not guilty to malicious assault Tuesday.

McMechen police say he stabbed a man during a bar fight at Good Fellas.

He remains in jail on $25,000 bond.

Also in Marshall County, Landrum Robbins, 58, is charged with 30 counts of sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Robbins said little in court, but shook his head when his charges were read out loud.

West Virginia State Police officers said Robbins was living in a church in Beech Bottom at the time of his arrest.

Police said Robbins is accused of sex crimes against a then 9-year-old girl and there may be other victims.

Meanwhile, Nicholas Brown is facing 40 counts having to do with child pornography. He is free on bond.

In a separate case, Jason Miller faces 30 counts having to do with child pornography, but was not arraigned Tuesday. Miller must still meet with an attorney.

Jamie Hoyt, 38, is charged with third-offense domestic violence and three counts of malicious assault. According to reports, Hoyt stabbed his girlfriend in the Fish Creek area of Marshall County. He is in jail on $25,000 bond.

Again, most of these cases are separate and will meet for pre-trial hearings on Aug. 8 and Aug. 19.
