BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va.

West Virginia state law requires municipalities with zoning codes to adopt a comprehensive plan by July 1.

In Wellsburg the planning commission is working with West Virginia University to develop their plan.

Interested residents came together at the Salvation Army to participate in the open house regarding the city's comprehensive plan. The plan is an outline for the future of the town to build and develop the economy and infrastructure.

Jared Anderson is part of the West Virginia University College of Law, Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic which came to Wellsburg Monday night to help take notes about ideas for the plan.

Once feedback is gathered from the planning commission and residents with ideas, the comprehensive plan will move forward.
