JMHS teacher arrested for battery

Updated: Wednesday, April 30 2014, 02:32 PM EDT
GLEN DALE, W.Va. -- A Marshall County teacher has been arrested after he allegedly tried to kiss a student and pursue a relationship.
David Duane Will, Jr., 32, was arraigned Tuesday and released on his own recognizance, charged with one misdemeanor count of battery.
According to a criminal complaint, Will allegedly told the teenager she was beautiful, he missed her and repeatedly tried to contact her through social media before he attacked her on April 9.
The incident was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff's department and the Marshall County Board of Education.
Will is listed as a social studies teacher on John Marshall High School's website.
Reports indicate a computer was seized and his Facebook and Twitter account were deactivated.
The girl's sister also witnessed the alleged incident and has spoken with deputies.
The matter has been turned over to the Marshall County Board of Education. John Marshall's Principal has referred it to the superintendent's office, but repeated calls to administrators by NEWS9 have not been returned.
