MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va.– A Moundsville man is charged with arson after police say he started a fire, with gasoline, at his own home.

Moundsville Police say they believe 32-year-old Timothy Albaugh started the house fire at 121 Olive Ave. on Jan 10.

According to Detective William Whitelatch, with the Moundsville Police Department, Albaugh was drunk and high on a controlled substance at the time of the fire.

Reports indicate gas cans were found inside the house. Officials say it appears gasoline was poured in the living room and dining room areas of the house.

Albaugh was arraigned this afternoon and released on his own recognizance. However, is on house arrest for another crime. He is charged with 1st degree arson and faces 2-20 years in jail.
