HANNIBAL, Ohio -- Former aluminum manufacturer Ormet officially closed Thursday morning following a now-finalized deal with the plant's new owner.
Niagara Worldwide is the new owner of the plant, and officials said the remaining 20 employees who were still working at the site were let go.
In May, Niagara Worldwide purchased the plant at an auction for upwards of $25 million.
Earlier this year, Ormet announced it would lay off more than 1,000 workers after state utility regulators refused a proposed deal for reducing electricity costs.
