Updated: Saturday, August 9 2014, 07:54 PM EDT

MONROE COUNTY, Ohio

People in Clarington are concerned for the safety of a deer who has become the town pet. The Deer was discovered in the town six months ago and has been there ever since. ODNR Wildlife officials say they are prepared to put the deer down after they received complaints from a resident in the area who says the deer is eating crop and might be a safety risk for children. Wildlife officers say the deer cannot be relocated because it might spread diseases.
