Cilantro's, Stadiums add to booming Edgington Lane area

Updated: Tuesday, June 24 2014, 06:24 PM EDT
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Two new businesses have recently opened in the Edgington Lane area.
Cilantros Latin Grill and Stadiums – Home of Pizza, Burgers and Subs -- both offer lunch and dinner and are locally owned.
Lesley Antonik, with Stadiums, said the idea came to her at Green Bay Packers’ game, when she took her son for his birthday about 7 years ago.
“We researched all 31 NFL stadiums and some baseball stadiums and came up with some food designed to feed the masses and are also simple and good,” Antonik said.
The restaurant has tables to stand around while you watch the big game, a drive thru window and a sports theme.
Antonik says they will have beer in July and soon you can order your food on a touch screen. She said she chose the location because a friend owned the building and it’s a busy spot.
“He’s wanted to put something in and we kind of joined ideas on pizza and sandwiches,” Antonik said. “He likes the Chicago hand-toss style, and it's different than you usually find in the valley.”
This is Antonik’s second venture she also owns Ruttenbucks Bar and Grill in Valley Grove.
She talked about the new restaurant and how all the businesses in the area, including Cilantros, Ye Olde Alpha, Owl’s Nest and Miklas Meat Market, are working to make the area a success.
Cilantro’s General Manager Carlos Parra agreed and said it’s been an exciting start for the Latin grill.
Cilantros offer delicious burritos, bowls, homemade salsa and chips, salads and more. It's also a quick place to grab a bite that is made right in front of you.
Parra also mentioned it's a cool spot to watch the world cup games.
“It’s a great area; we have The Alpha next door … from a business point of view, the location is great,” Parro said.
Both restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, but Cilantros is closed on Sunday.
Stadiums is featuring a contest starting Friday for VIP Jamboree in the Hills passes. To enter, you must simply make a purchase and turn in the receipt.
