WHEELING, W.Va.—

Wheeling City Council will vote Tuesday whether or not to spend $26, 695.00 with Edgeco, Inc. of Lansing and tear down the century old Gene Long Center at 100 S. Penn Street.

City Manager Robert Herron announced months ago that the city would spend money from the general fund to tear down the building, now in deplorable condition.

The historic building is well known for being a record keeper of floods from the 1800s to present on Wheeling Island.
