Oglebay ski slopes to open

WHEELING, W.Va.---


The Ski Area at Oglebay will open for the season on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

 

Regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Hours vary for Ohio County school closings – call the Oglebay ski hotline at 304-243-4177 or visit the Oglebay ski website at ski.oglebay-resort.com for daily hours and conditions. All hours are weather permitting.

 

“We have been making snow for the past few days and, combined with our natural snowfall, we have good conditions,” said Rico Coville, Director of Ski and Golf at Oglebay. 

 

All skiers and snowboarders under age 18 will require a release to be signed by their parent, guardian or custodian prior to skiing at Oglebay.  Lift ticket rates for adults (age 18 & over) are: Monday through Thursday $15.00, Friday $22.00; Saturday, Sunday and holidays $26.00. Child (ages 6 to 17) lift rates are: Monday through Thursday $11.00, Friday $16.00: Saturday, Sunday and holidays $19.00. Children ages 5 and under ski free with a paid adult.  Special twilight lift rates are available after 6:00 p.m. 

 

Season passes are currently available at the Hamm Clubhouse at the Speidel Golf Club and will be available after opening day at the Ski Area. An adult season pass is $300.00, child season pass is $200.00 and a family season pass is $550.00.  Family pass is for a family that lives in the same household and claimed as dependent on tax return.

 

Skis, boots and snowboards, are available for rental at the Oglebay ski facility. All renters under age 18 will require a release to be signed by their parent, guardian or custodian.
