McMECHEN, W.Va. -- After a stabbing at a local bar Monday night, one man is facing serious charges while another is hospitalized.
It happened at Goodfellas Bar & Grill in McMechen. The two men exchanged words, were thrown out of the bar and then one man said he'd been stabbed.
It happened just after 10 o'clock. Ashley Baker, 41, faces a malicious wounding charge.
Officials said both men work for the oil and gas industry, but it's unclear if they knew each other.
"People inside the bar got everyone out front," McMechen Police Chief David Robinson said. "My understanding is the fight continued for a few more moments out in front of the establishment. We were called, EMS was called, and the victim was transported to Ohio Valley Medical Center."
The victim underwent surgery, and we are told he was posting on Facebook on Tuesday morning that he was OK.
Meanwhile, Baker is in the Northern Regional Jail.
Robinson said the oil and gas workers haven't caused much of a problem in McMechen, and he thinks the industry has been a good thing.
