Wheeling Jesuit holds toy drive to support area children

Updated: Tuesday, December 17 2013, 05:14 PM EST

WHEELING, W.Va. --

About 75 toys were donated by The Wheeling Jesuit University Administrative Council, which recently held its annual Christmas toy drive for area children.

Each year, the WJU Administrative Council collects toys and clothing for the Catholic Neighborhood Center in Wheeling for distribution.

The WJU luncheon has been a long-standing tradition of Administrative Council to bring together administrators from across campus.  P.J. Reindel, Wheeling Jesuit Class of 2002 and director of the Catholic Neighborhood Center, joins Administrative Council each year to accept the donations made by Wheeling Jesuit employees.

Members of the lacrosse team, under the direction of first-year coach Kevin Dugan, use this as a team-building experience and take the kids from the center to go shopping.

"The employees and students of Wheeling Jesuit University are happy to support the Catholic Neighborhood Center during the Christmas season. We look forward to this event each year," said Becky Forney, chair of Administrative Council.
