OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. -- This weekend, the Wine & Jazz Festival will take over Heritage Port.
The pre-party, scheduled for Friday night, had to be cancelled because of a chance of rain. But Saturday's festival is expected to be better than ever. Almost a dozen wineries will take over for the 7th annual event.
"It's hard to find that many wineries in one area," said Greg Smith, 2104 Wine & Jazz Festival chairman. "It gives you an opportunity to come to one location and try some great wines from West Virginia."
Food and wine vendors will line Water Street. Festival goers will receive a souvenir glass and corkscrew. Plus, there will be educational courses and a wine and food pairing session.
There's more.
"Seven great hours of jazz music," Smith said. "We will have three bands coming for the festival. We have art and craft vendors here. And if you don't particularly care for wine, we have beer stations set up."
The event runs from 4-11 p.m. Admission is $20.
